Truly freeform radio - no musical genre is off-limits in this quixotic quest for the sublime. From garage rock to free jazz, bluegrass to the music of African griots, this show aims both to entertain and to challenge you to explore sounds you’ve never heard. Just don’t expect a whole lot of opera. It’s pretty hard to mix in.

All genres are fair game, but you can expect to hear lots of nu-soul, house, dub, trip-hop, ambient, techno, disco, rock, electro & lounge. The Cut is a showcase of electronic music, which strives to highlight underrepresented experimental electronic artists. While the program is coordinated locally, in Asheville, and has featured many live, in-studio performances from regional musicians; the show is hosted internationally on a rotation basis by about a group of DJs, who are spread out over a half-dozen countries, including Chile, The UK, The Netherlands, and Slovenia. It can get pretty arty, but whatever.

Veterans’ Voices is a show by Veterans, about Veterans, service members and their families. The brave men and women who serve our country are under-represented both locally and nationally. As the name implies, Veterans’ Voices seeks to give a voice to the voiceless and empower Veterans by broadcasting their personal stories. On our show, we discuss the full spectrum of tough issues facing Veterans today. We highlight the depth, variety and humanity of Veterans that is so often overlooked by the mainstream media. Until we bring our brothers and sisters home safely, we continue to support them by giving them what they need most: an outlet to express their experiences, dreams, desires, frustrations and collective vision.
